At the Statutory Meeting (December Board Meeting) the Chair of the Board of Directors appoints Directors to serve on the Select and Standing Committees of the Board.
Decisions of the Committees must be approved at the next Board Meeting before they become Board policy.

The BEDC was formed by the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary to assist the Boundary region in finding grass roots solutions to their common economic problems. In this role as leader and facilitator of effective community economic development, the BEDC strives to be proactive and strategic, promote change and long-term sustainability and increase community involvement, capacity and empowerment in all local initiatives.
The BEDC formed in November of 2006, consists of six elected officials from the geographic regions they serve (Christina Lake, Greenwood, Grand Forks, Midway, Area E and Area D).
