Electoral Area B includes the rural areas bordered on the east by the Columbia River, on the west by the Santa Rosa Summit, on the north by the junction of Highways 3 & 3B and on the south by the Canada / U.S. Border.
Area B includes the unincorporated communities of Genelle, Rivervale, Oasis, Casino, Blackjack, South Belt, Sheep Creek and Patterson. Area B does not include area within the municipalities of Trail, Rossland or Warfield.
The population of Electoral Area 'B' according to 2006 Census Canada figures was 1,418.
Residents of Electoral Area 'B' of the RDKB pay property and parcel taxes to the Province for services provided by the RDKB.
