The Big White Community Association (formally known as the Big White Joint Strata Council) is an association which has been active for approximately 25 years. The association represents the owners in areas that are common to all, such as fire protection, waste recovery, ambulance service, security, roads and many other issues.
The association works closely with the Director for Electoral Area E and the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary but also communicates with other levels of the Provincial Government and the R.C.M.P.
Currently, the members include Big White Ski Resort Ltd., a delegate from Snowpines I and II, a delegate from the Big White Fire Department, a delegate from the old chalets in the Village and a delegate from most condominiums having 10 units or more. The association produces newsletters frequently during the year which are e-mailed to most residents and now posted on the RDKB website.
