Residual Management - (Garbage)

Disposal - The Last Resort

Disposal, the last resort

Please note: none of the landfills in the RDKB accept hazardous waste (PCB's etc.) tires, used oil & filters, recyclable beverage containers, or holding tank effluent.   As well, McKelvey Creek (Trail) does not accept motor vehicle bodies.

On September 1, 2001 all materials that are accepted in local recycling programs, plus yard & garden waste were also banned from RDKB landfills. Find out what else is banned from RDKB landfills.

Landfills accept a greater variety of waste materials and have additional recycling services.  Find out the location of your nearest landfill.

Transfer Stations accept household garbage and some are adjacent to recycling depots.  Find out where the nearest transfer station is to your home.
