A questionnaire was sent to Area 'B' residents in October 2009. The results of the questionnaire will be posted when they are available.

A long range planning project that is underway is a review of the Electoral Area 'B' Official Community Plan (OCP). The Electoral Area 'B' Official Community Plan (OCP) (Bylaw No. 1020) was adopted in February 2001. At that time the OCP was intended to act as a guide for development and expansion in Electoral Area 'B' until about 2010 thereby making a review at this time appropriate.
An OCP is established under the authority of the Province of British Columbia's Local Government Act. An OCP is a document used to guide land use planning and is created with input from the public. Once adopted by the RDKB Board of Directors, their decision making is guided by the objectives and policies in the OCP.

An OCP Steering Committee has been formed to provide input into the planning process. The Steering Committee toured Area 'B' on September 12, 2009 visiting many sites in the area including Casino, Rivervale/Oasis, Genelle, South Belt, Patterson, and Black Jack.
