What Can you Put in Your Blue Bag?

YES
Film Plastic: Plastic Bags - any plastic that has stretch
Rigid Plastic : Any food containers that have a recycling symbol on the bottom with numbers #1 > #7. No small loose lids please.

Newspaper - and their inserts

Mixed Paper -- that's junk mail, office paper, magazines, coloured paper -- every scrap of clean paper

Cardboard  (please collapse all CLEAN boxes) 

Tin Cans: Please put lids back in the can and SQUISH!

Please do not try to recycle food or oil contaminated paper or containers.

Do not put  GLASS in the blue bags. Glass can be recycled at the recycling depots (behind the Firehall and the Grand Forks Landfill). 

Styrofoam is not part of the RDKB's reycling program
Waxed paper is a mixed material. Waxed cardboard and wax paper milk cartons are not part of the RDKB's recycling program.
Please return all refundable beverage containers to the Grand Forks Bottle Depot or the retailer.
Large metal objects can be brought to the Grand Forks Landfill where they are recycled.

How to Use the Schedule :

1) Locate your neighbourhood on the map
2) Identify the colour associated with your area
3) Your pickup day is the day on the calendar that matches the colour of your neighbourhood.

Note: Pickup schedule is not affected by Statutory Holidays unless the pickup day falls on Christmas or New Years Day. Residents will be notified of any change in the pickup schedule.
