East Trail at the McKelvey Creek Landfill (10 am to 5 pm, Mon - Sat). This site also hosts the Product Care depots to recycle leftover paint , pesticides, solvents and residual fuels in their original containers.
Genelle
Electoral Area 'A'

Note: Refundable Beverage Containers are banned from the RDKB's Recycling Program
Please return your refundable beverage containers to the Trail Bottle Depot at 562 Rossland Ave. in Trail, or to point of purchase.
Also consider donating your empty pop, water, juice or alcohol containers to service groups in your community.
In Fruitvale, place empties in the Blue Bin in the corner of the recycling area.
In Trail, place in the Blue Bin at the edge of the recycling area at the McKelvey Creek Landfill. Proceeds go to fund youth meals and programs at Sanctuary.
At the Genelle Depot adjacent to the Fire Hall, proceeds of the donations to the blue bottle bin help fund the Genelle Recreation Society.
Central Subregion
Christina Lake

The Christina Lake Recycling Depot is located at the landfill (same hours of operation). Follow this link for landfill / recycling depot hours of operation.

Recycling available [Newspaper, Office Paper, Magazines, Mixed Paper, Aluminum Cans, Cardboard, Tin Cans, All Rigid Plastic containers #1 to #7, Film Plastic, Glass]
Note: Glass is not included in the Blue Bag pickup system. However glass can be brought to the recycling depots and put in a separate part of the bin. Film Plastic is any plastic that can be stretched.
Grand Forks

The recycling depot is located in Downtown Grand Forks behind the Fire Hall on 72nd Av. The depot is always open.

The recycling depots at the Landfill is only accessable during landfill
operation hours.

Also consider donating your empty pop, water, juice or alcohol containers at the bin provided at the Downtown Recycling Bins

Proceeds go to Sunshine Valley Community Services who help keep the depot tidy.
West Subregion
The following items can be recycled at all depots in the West Subregion:
Newspaper, Office Paper, Magazines, Pocket Books, Catalogues, Phone Books, Clear Glass, Cardboard, Aluminum Cans, Tin Cans, All Rigid Plastic containers #1 to #7, Film Plastic, Glass.

will purchase the following items: Car batteries, Copper, Brass, Zinc, Stainless Steel, Aluminum (sheeting/casting, etc).

A pick up service is available for large quantities (over 300 lbs). (250) 446-2497.

Norbert Salvage also accepts all refundable bottles and cans and is a Product Care depot for leftover paint and hazardous household materials in their original containers.
